2. A more recent paper on the Statistical Testing of Hypotheses in Astrology can be read here.
3. The current version of the SmartChart Excel97 spreadsheet can be downloaded here.
4. SmartChart v5 onwards needs the Swiss Ephemeris program that is available free of cost from Astrodienst. You would need to download swetest.exe, seas_18.se1, semo_18.se1, sepl_18.se1 from that site.
5. SQLite : the easiest genuine RDBMS that you can use on your machine - No configuration required. Get it here.

Full Beta Version Baselined
Parashar21 reached a major milepost when we released the first "full" beta version of the SmartChart software today. In our definition of "full" we include (a) generation of charts (b) storage of charts (c) storage of life events corresponding to a chart (d) retrieval of charts + events based on either PAC information or life event information.
The current baselined version meets these requirements.

Astrology : Correlation, Not Causation
A widely held perception about astrology states that astronomical bodies influence events in human life and this influence can be benefic or malefic. This CAUSALITY is extremely difficult to justify in scientific or rational terms and has led to vague and vacuous explanations in terms of mysterious "rays" that emanate from planets -- and can be focused by gems and jewels -- or in terms of as yet unexplained gravitational and electromagnetic "action-at-a-distance" mechanisms.
